Hundreds of children and families came out to Lakeside Park on Sunday, December 1st to help kick off the holiday season in Forest Lake.
Santa and Mrs. Claus were on hand along with two helpers to greet more than a hundred children and hear their Christmas wishes. After meeting Santa, children were offered a free mini train ride throughout the park, along with hot chocolate and cookies.
Members of the Forest Lake Area High School choir added their voices to the event with a few Christmas carols, and the evening's finale was the lighting of the brilliant 30-foot Christmas tree at the entrance to the park.
A special thanks to our sponsors: Forest Lake Park Board, Forest Lake Area Chamber, Forest Lake Area Schools, Xcel Energy and Johnson and Turner for supporting this event and helping us keep the festivities completely free for children and their families.
Mark your calendars for next year's event, Sunday, November 30th, 2014.
