Seasonal Code Enforcement/Zoning Internship
$11.00-$15.00/ hour, depending on experience
The position is designed to assist with the peak season for zoning and nuisance code enforcement, support City staff, and assist with research on planning issues. Primary responsibilities are to conduct site visits, document zoning code violations, and generate enforcement letters. Additional responsibilities include providing staff support and assistance with planning inquiries. The position will also perform research into present and potential urban planning issues encountered at the municipal level.
- Completion of at least two years of study in a post-secondary program with class concentrations in urban planning, political science or public administration
- Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to interact with the public in a positive manner
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with document management software.
- Responsible and ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license

Forest Lake Park Ranger
The City of Forest Lake is currently hiring part-time seasonal Park Rangers. Individuals will be responsible for keeping a safe, clean and friendly environment at Lakeside Memorial Park. Duties include, but are not limited to: walking through park regularly, observing park activity and watching for anything dangerous or illegal, monitoring park grounds for potential dangers, intervene with individuals or groups who are break park rules and call police or emergency personnel when needed, check and clean bathrooms periodically, empty trash and recycling and replace trash bags, pick up litter, pull weeds, collect lost-and-found items, log daily activities, and report concerns to supervisors. Hours are Monday-Friday 4-9 PM and Saturday and Sunday 1-9 PM. Compensation will be in the amount of $9.50 per hour. Must be 18 years of age or older. Application deadline is Friday, April 21, 2017.
