Position Description: Finance Director
Plan and direct all City financial functions to accurately account for financial transactions
and funds, and provide financial planning, analysis and management. Responsible for
managing all finance and accounting functions, operating and capital budgets, annual
audit, and utility billing. Directs human resource functions including health, flexible
spending, property, liability, casualty insurance programs. Attends City Council meetings
to answer questions and provide information as requested. Performs other duties
necessary as assigned by City Administrator. Monitors the implementation and use of
financial software systems Coordinate and supervise department staff.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Qualifications for the position include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or
related field, five years of progressively responsible experience in finance administration
or accounting, including a minimum of three years in a supervisory capacity, and
municipal government experience or private consulting experience working with local
governments. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Position Description: Deputy City Clerk
The City of Forest Lake is recruiting for a Deputy City Clerk position to perform a variety of highly skilled administrative duties including managing city licensing; processing data practices requests; maintaining official city records, providing confidential administrative support to the City Administrator; and coordinating Board, Commission, and Council activity including meeting agenda preparation and minute taking. The hiring range for the position is $50,697 to $63,371 per year.

Intern- Zoning Administration
Employment: Temporary, Full-Time
Duration: 10-12 weeks, May - August
Hours: 32- 40 hours per week (negotiable, depending on internship needs)
Rate of Pay: $12-$15/hour depending on experience
Accountable to: Donovan Hart, Zoning Administrator
The position is designed to assist with the peak season for zoning and nuisance code enforcement, support City staff, and assist with research on planning issues. Primary responsibilities are to conduct site visits, document zoning code violations, and generate enforcement letters. Additional responsibilities include providing staff support and assistance with planning inquiries. The position will also perform research into present and potential urban planning issues encountered at the municipal level.
• Completion of at least two years of study in a post-secondary program with class concentrations in urban planning, political science or public administration
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
• Ability to interact with the public in a positive manner
• Competency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with document management software
• Responsible and ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license
